FreightHub Logistics shipped 615 kg of diagnostic medical kits from Strasbourg to Almaty. The consignee needed the cargo before the New Year closure disrupted customs processing. With direct air capacity unavailable, the team combined dedicated road collection with flights through Frankfurt and Istanbul.
A deadline tied to customs clearance
The operational deadline was December 31. Missing that window would have left the kits waiting through the extended holiday period in Kazakhstan.
The kits were collected on December 29. Direct routes were full and cargo-flight alternatives from Liège were unavailable. FreightHub Logistics secured space on a passenger-flight connection through Istanbul rather than waiting for a direct option.
Dedicated collection and paperwork prepared in transit
A dedicated vehicle collected the kits in Strasbourg and drove directly to Frankfurt Airport without consolidation with other freight. FreightHub Logistics prepared the air waybill during the road leg.
The team checked the shipper's package markings and declared dry ice on the air waybill before airport handover.
The connection through Istanbul
The cargo was loaded for the Frankfurt–Istanbul flight on December 30, followed by the Istanbul transfer on December 30–31. FreightHub Logistics’ operations team monitored the shipment and coordinated with ground handlers for the connecting flight to Almaty.
At destination, the team arranged customs processing in advance of arrival. The aircraft landed in Almaty at 15:00 local time on December 31, and the kits reached the consignee that afternoon.
The required temperature range
The customer required a temperature range of +2°C to +8°C. Dry ice, identified as UN1845, was used for this shipment; the temperature maintained during transport is unverified.
Delivery reported before the holiday closure
The kits cleared customs and reached the consignee on December 31, before the holiday closure.
Prepare a time-critical medical-cargo enquiry
Provide the collection-ready time, receiving deadline and destination customs contact. Include the product description, required temperature range, validated packaging information, planned coolant and any applicable dangerous-goods details. State who will supply the shipment documents and receive the cargo during holiday hours. Current cargo acceptance and the handling plan would need review before a booking commitment.
