Automotive logistics for production and aftermarket supply

A production-critical component and a planned shipment of replacement parts can travel through the same supply chain but serve different deadlines. FreightHub Logistics helps automotive businesses select transport around the cargo, receiving schedule and operational requirement rather than treating every parts shipment as an emergency.

Our Netherlands, Germany and China offices support automotive freight forwarding for suitable components, manufacturing inputs, aftermarket goods, tooling and equipment.

01 / Supply-chain job

Match the movement to the supply-chain job

Production supply

Describe the components, quantities and required delivery timing. Body and structural parts, drivetrain components, wiring harnesses, sensors, braking systems and interior assemblies bring different packaging and handling needs.

Aftermarket replenishment

Distinguish the date stock is needed from the earliest possible delivery. Include the receiving warehouse or distributor and any agreed storage requirement when comparing the international freight options.

Tooling

Tooling and manufacturing equipment

Give dimensions and weight per piece, not just a total. A tool or machine may require an individual handling assessment even when the other parts in the shipment can move as standard freight.

02 / Transport

Transport options without a one-size-fits-all schedule

Air freight

Air freight can suit urgent, production-critical or time-sensitive components.

Ocean freight

Ocean freight can suit planned, higher-volume or heavier shipments.

Road freight

Road freight supports suitable regional and cross-border movements, including supplier collections and delivery to production or warehouse locations.

Air, ocean and road are available through all three offices. Rail can be considered through the Netherlands and China, not Germany. An expedited option is assessed against the actual route and cargo; the required delivery date is the starting point, not a delivery guarantee.

03 / Scope

Agree the scope beyond the international leg

Warehousing is available through all three offices, with the storage and handling solution agreed for the location and goods. Distribution is available through the Netherlands and China, not Germany.

Project cargo capability is limited in the Netherlands and Germany and available in China. Germany also has limited oversized/overweight and high-value cargo capability. Batteries and other regulated automotive cargo require classification, documentation, packaging and route acceptance. Germany's dangerous-goods restrictions include radioactive cargo and Class 1.

04 / Planning

From collection to the receiving location

  1. 01

    Separate urgent from planned

Separate urgent production requirements from planned stock movements and confirm cargo-ready dates.

  2. 02

    Review components and modes

Review the components, packaging, value and handling needs, then compare suitable modes and routing.

  3. 03

    Review documentation

Review the commercial invoice, packing list and relevant transport information. Identify any product-specific or dangerous-goods documents needed from the responsible party.

  4. 04

    Coordinate collection

Coordinate collection and any agreed consolidation or storage, followed by international transport and updates at agreed milestones.

  5. 05

    Arrange delivery

Arrange delivery to the agreed consignee, warehouse or production location within the confirmed scope.

05 / FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can you assess an urgent parts shipment?

Yes. Provide the ready time, origin, destination and required delivery date so available expedited freight options can be reviewed. Do not wait until collection to flag a production-critical deadline.

Can parts and tooling use the same transport solution?

Possibly, but size, weight, packaging and handling must be checked for each piece. Tooling that exceeds standard handling requirements may need a separate assessment.

Prepare your automotive enquiry

Discuss an automotive shipment

Include part descriptions and quantities, packaging, dimensions and gross weight, shipment value, origin and receiving location, ready date and required delivery date. Explain whether the goods support production, aftermarket stock or a tooling programme, and flag batteries or other regulated cargo.

Share the automotive cargo context and receiving schedule with FreightHub Logistics when you are ready to talk through the movement.
