Capability and risk questions
Packaged food, ingredients and perishable products
Suitable dry and packaged food products can move as international freight for distributors, retailers and food supply chains. The assessment covers the commodity, packaging and destination requirements rather than treating all packaged food as one cargo type.
Ingredients and food-production inputs need a clear product description and any handling instructions. Identify whether the goods can travel under standard conditions or require a controlled environment. Supporting food-industry equipment is assessed according to its own dimensions and transport requirements.
For chilled or other temperature-sensitive products, the required conditions must be checked before a transport option is agreed. Perishable cargo also needs a workable schedule for collection, international movement and receipt at destination.
Confirm temperature requirements for the whole movement
Temperature-controlled logistics is available through China for suitable food cargo. The temperature range, packaging, equipment and monitoring arrangements must be agreed for each shipment. A general service offering does not establish that every product or temperature requirement can be accommodated.
Describe the conditions needed during collection, transport, any storage and final delivery. Include shelf-life considerations and the receiving deadline. If storage is required, food suitability and temperature capability need confirmation for the specific facility; general warehousing availability is not a promise of cold storage.
Choose freight around shelf life and the delivery schedule
Air freight can suit time-sensitive and perishable products where the cargo is accepted for air transport. Ocean freight can suit planned food shipments, including temperature-controlled container movements where the required conditions can be confirmed. Road freight may support suitable collection or delivery legs.
Rail through China can be considered for suitable non-perishable or otherwise accepted cargo. It should not be assumed suitable for a perishable shipment simply because rail freight is available. Product requirements, route and carrier acceptance come before the choice of mode.
From product brief to delivery
1. Describe the product, quantity, packaging, origin and destination, with temperature and shelf-life requirements where relevant.
2. Compare suitable routes against the cargo-ready date and required delivery timing.
3. Review commercial, transport and product-specific documentation supplied by the responsible parties. Import or export customs coordination can be included through China within the agreed scope.
4. Agree collection, handling and any storage conditions before the international movement. Arrange communication at agreed shipment milestones.
5. Coordinate final delivery to the agreed receiving location and cargo requirements.
Cargo insurance can be discussed for suitable shipments. Availability and the proposed cover need confirmation for the goods and movement concerned.
Frequently asked questions
Can the Netherlands or Germany office handle my food shipment?
Those offices do not currently accept food products. Our China team assesses food and perishable enquiries and confirms whether the product and route can be supported.
Can you arrange chilled transport?
Yes, for suitable shipments through China when the required conditions can be confirmed. Share the temperature range, packaging, timing and handling needs before making a booking.
Is food warehousing available?
Warehousing is available through China, but the product and facility must be suitable. Cold storage and specific temperature conditions need separate confirmation.
Do you offer a standard temperature or shelf-life guarantee?
No standard temperature range or shelf-life guarantee is offered here. The operating conditions and service scope are agreed for the individual shipment.
